Jacob O. Pickett, Esq.
Partner
Jake Pickett joined Lancaster, Trotter & Poe in 2020 as an associate attorney and quickly established himself as a trusted legal advisor for clients, earning a promotion to firm partner in 2024.
Jake is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and holds a Juris Doctor from Elon University School of Law where he was active as a Business Fellow and a member of the Elon Law Business Journal. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from High Point University.
Prior to joining LT&P, Jake interned with multiple North Carolina law firms, gaining valuable experience in real estate and business law. Jake found a passion in real estate law and enjoys the multiple complexities that each transaction brings.
Jake understands the intricacies of real estate transactions and works diligently with each client to ensure that their transaction progresses smoothly from contract to closing.
When he’s not working on behalf of firm clients, you might find Jake on the golf course in the mountains of North Carolina, spending time with his family in Elkin, or out at a Charlotte park with his miniature Australian Shepherd, Emmy.

Myles C. Owens IV, Esq., MBA
Partner
Myles Owens is a licensed attorney in North Carolina and South Carolina, holds a Juris Doctor degree from Elon University School of Law and a Master of Business Administration from the Elon University Martha & Spencer Love School of Business, where he was a Business Fellow.
At LTP&O, Myles works with both residential and commercial real estate clients advising through the closing process and assisting clients solving complex title issues. His commitment to clients is summed up by the firm’s 3 C’s – communication, consistency, and convenience. He is well-versed in all aspects of commercial development including land acquisition, negotiating land sale agreements, and well versed in understanding the entitlement process.
Myles’ prior legal roles include working as an attorney with a Charlotte residential real estate firm. His real estate experience includes positions with a North Carolina multi-family real estate firm and a land acquisition investment company, providing him with valuable insight into commercial real estate development.
An entrepreneur at heart, prior to starting his legal career, Myles founded two start-up companies. Launching and building these businesses provided valuable experience in business formation, vendor agreements, and business law.
Myles is well-integrated in the Charlotte real estate and business community, reflecting his commitment to fostering professional relationships and staying abreast of industry developments. He enjoys sharing the firm’s expertise in presentations to professional groups and real estate firms.
Myles, his wife Betsy, and their dog have their own real estate projects, including updating a mid-century home.

Raymond L. Lancaster

Raymond is a Charlotte native and has been practicing real estate law in Charlotte for over 40 years. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University and Wake Forest School of Law. Raymond has represented some of the largest home builders in the Charlotte area for decades and has experience in estate planning.

William H. Trotter Jr

William (“Will”) Trotter has practiced law in Charlotte for over 40 years. A Charlotte native, and a graduate of Wake Forest University, Will spent the bulk of his career navigating complex titles, advising and representing developers and builders, and closing residential and commercial real estate transactions.

We are “Dirt Lawyers” who focus on real estate law. It’s what we love, we’re serious about it, and that comes through in how much we enjoy what we do. Every day, we get the privilege of helping residential and commercial clients realize their dreams. Pretty cool, right?
Yvonne Wyatt
Team Member
With over 30 years of experience at the firm, Yvonne is a cornerstone of our team. She specializes in builder closings and brings deep knowledge and reliability to every transaction. In addition to her legal work, she also serves as our receptionist, often being the first friendly face our clients see when they walk through the door.
Outside the office, she enjoys watching movies, spending time with family and staying active with regular workouts. Most recently, she’s embraced her favorite new title—Lolly—as a proud grandmother to her first grandson.

Jennifer Peters
Team Member
Jennifer has been with the firm for more than 25 years and has experience with all aspects of real estate closings. Currently, her main responsibility is working with listing agents and sellers to ensure a smooth closing process.
Jennifer lived in Charlotte for many years but moved back to New York (my hometown state) in 2018 to be closer to family and has been working remotely ever since. She enjoys bike riding, gardening, scrapbooking, crafts and hanging out with family and friends. She’s a “fur baby mom” to Murphy, a Lab mix and, Luna, a temperamental cat and also “step-fur baby mom” to Lucy, a Boston Terrier.

Caroline Sturdivant
Team Member
Caroline is a dedicated real estate paralegal with years of experience in the real estate industry. Specializing in contract setup, title work, and coordinating with lenders on resales, she is committed to ensuring smooth and efficient closings with a friendly attitude. With a detail-oriented approach and a focus on accuracy and customer service, Caroline strives to facilitate seamless transactions for all parties involved.
Outside of work, Caroline loves exploring new hobbies in Charlotte, while also spending quality time with family, friends, and all her fur babies. A fan of reality TV and crime series, she enjoys unwinding with a good show. Having chosen Charlotte for its perfect location between the mountains and the beach, Caroline appreciates the best of both worlds.
Erik Day
Team Member
Erik began as a courier for the firm over 25 years ago and has done various tasks as his career progressed. From searching titles and legal research, to everything related to closing out files after the documents are recorded and even the occasional tech support, Erik is a valuable person to have around.
